How to make decisions

Taking decisions is not easy and different decisions have different impact in our lives. Self esteem is escencial in taking the right decisions.I remember many years ago when my father had cancer that one day I went home from work to eat lunch.
That morning he got up not feeling well, so he decided to stay in bed. When I saw him at noon he did not talk much, and even though my mother said that she was worried about him, I finished my lunch and I went back to work. The same day when I came home after work my father entered coma 4.
The truth is that I decided to go back to work because I was afraid, and under total denial. It was easier for me to get distracted with work than to face reality. My self esteem was low at that moment. I always regretted that decision. That day I had the chance to talk to him and be with him and it was too late.
I have learned through experience that different decisions have different impacts in my life. The impact will be given by our levels of self esteem. I have many regrets about some decisions that I have taken in the past, why?. Because they were motivated by fear without any introspection. Lack of self esteem.
If we are confused when we decide , later we are going to regret the results. Those decisions I have made based on fear did not have good consequences in my life. At that moment I didn't know about the relationship between decisions and self esteem. How do you make decisions in your life?. Do you make them base on anger, fear, self-pity or watehever negative emotion is running our life?.
From experience I know that to make the right decisions I have to use a decision making process and make sure I feel good and my self esteem level is high :
- I settle down and focus on my feelings, remember that your feelings determine the level of self esteem.
- If I feel fear, anger, anxiety or other negative emotion I postpone the decision.
- Improve your image. Stop being a perfectionist . This the main reason for not feeling good enough and unworthy.
- I clear my emotions by any method like writing or using EFT.
- I listen to what my intuition has to say.
- Finally, when I can see the situation from another perspective because I have cleared myself from the negative emotions, I am ready to take action.
Remember that guilt won't help you. Releasing the guilt is important, it will help you to learn from the experience and know how to become more clear next time. When it comes to take decisions it doesn't matter if the decision is big or small.
Both are important in your life and in any case make sure you feel good and your self esteem level is high.
