The purpose of this book is to help you become aware. Aware so that you know where you are now and how far you can go. This book will provide you with some practical tools for understanding what healthy self-esteem is, and how to improve your low self-esteem if you are afflicted with it.

We all have an idea regarding self-esteem. However, sometimes we do not really believe that we can live our life with a healthy sense of self. Most of us were raised to believe that people with a healthy self-esteem are arrogant and many of us have come to the conclusion that it is taboo to "like yourself". You are supposed to not like yourself and hope that what you do pleases others so that they can give you your sense of worth with their liking of you.

So we run around and try to live happily and make people around us happy. How can we achieve this purpose if we are not really happy about ourselves? How can we try to give to others what we do not have?

So, understand that this is a companion book. I would suggest, then, coming back to it on a daily basis. There is no quick fix for obtaining self-esteem; and it doesn't come in from outside yourself. Building self-esteem is insider trading. In order to have a healthy self-esteem, you have to work at it daily and remove the obstacles that are holding you back.
