Some reasons people have plastic surgery
According to the American Society of Plastic surgeons if you want to have plastic surgery you have to consider your self image . There are many reasons why people go into plastic surgery. Some reasons are low self-esteem, an accident and so on.
I would suggest for those people that are considering plastic surgery that before they take the decision to ask themselves if they really want to go into it.
Think about why you want to go through this surgery
- Is this procedure important to you?.
- Will it make a difference in yourself?.
- are trying to please other people's standards?.
The best way to take a decision is honesty. The American Society of Plastic surgeon suggest that if you are going to have this kind of surgery consider counseling.
Evaluate the following tips before considering plastic surgery
- Going through crisis such as divorce, loss of a job or any other. Fix the problem first.
- Unrealistic expectations, like looking like celebrities, looking too young and so on. Jealousy and competition. Work on self-acceptance and self esteem.
- Being a perfectionist, obsessed with minor defects in order to be perfect. Work on self-image and self-acceptance and self esteem.
- Suffering Mental illness. Find help.
To wrap it up: The best way to have a healthy self-esteem is to take good care of yourself. Taking good care of yourself also means that you are aware of you self image and your choices. If you choose plastic surgery, work on your self image first.

Self acceptance - the first essential step to self improvement , this may sound like giving up and stopping efforts to improve yourself. But it is not that at all. Seeing yourself as you really are is the essential beginning to becoming who you want to be. And self acceptance is not just about appreciating your good points - it is being honest about your less commendable traits - without feeling guilty or inadequate because of them. Stop pretending to be something you're not. When you truly accept yourself for who you are, without feeling you have to pretend all the time, then paradoxically, your self confidence takes a massive leap.
