There is a relationship between how to cope with stress and self esteem. Stress is defined as a mentally or emotionally upsetting condition occurring in response to adverse external influences. Stress is capable of affecting physical health, usually characterized by increased heart rate. A rise in blood pressure, muscular tension, irritability, and depression.
Different people react in different way under stress . No knowing how to cope with it is related to your self esteem. As you can see from the definition , it is a response to external influences.
People with low self esteem are usually externally oriented ; have less ability to cope with stress. They blame, don't take responsibility. They don't take care of themselves and are too much concern about other's opinions.
On the other hand, a person with a healthy self esteem is internal oriented. With high self esteem you take care of yourself and assume responsibility. You become independent of the good or bad opinion's of others, therefore, you are more capable of handling stressful situations. Self Esteem builds from the inside out.
If you are too stressful you can start by practicing self pampering , it is essential to gain relaxation and to improve self esteem. Relaxation is the absence of tension in your body and in your mind. When you are relaxed there is no tension in muscle groups and there is an absence of negative inner chatter in your mind.
