There are three types, but we can’t label ourselves with a single type of self-esteem. Sometimes we feel more exuberant and sometimes more depressive; it all depends on what is happening in our lives.

3 Types of Self Esteem You Should Know

There are 3 types of self esteem. They are inflated self esteem, low self-esteem and high self-esteem.

1.Inflated Self-Esteem

People who have Inflated self-esteem think that they are better than others. They are always ready to underestimate others. It is a harmful type of self-esteem that keeps people away from making healthy and affectionate relationships.

They always want to come out on top and feel happy to be found in achieving success. Inflated self-esteem people do not listen to others and constantly blame and devalue them. With time, they adopt hostile behavior towards others.

Moreover, they have a fear of rejection and failure. These can change themselves just by realizing that they are humans and prone to fail and make mistakes.

2.High Self-Esteem

Hugh self-esteem people accept and value themselves and known to be positive. They seem positive and satisfied with their life. They believe in their abilities which create confidence and courage in them, necessary to face any challenge. Just Believing in yourself and trusting who you are, do not make them arrogant, nor do they feel better than anyone else. However, some people with high self-esteem could be seen as off-balance, which means they cannot maintain high self-esteem.

Sometimes they don’t accept passive, negative, and others’ points to view. It is rare; otherwise, they take the initiative and feel pleasant.

3.Low Self-Esteem

Low self-esteem people are totally the opposite of high self-esteem, where they do not value themselves and trust the possibilities. It badly affects an individual’s life, such as poor relationships, anxiety, depression, drug addiction, etc.

They are poor in building relationships because of self-doubt, and they think one is not good enough for anything if they try to please the wrong people. Sometimes, low self-esteem people adopt an addiction to drugs that ease the negative feelings about themselves. To escape the negative thoughts, they use hard drugs, alcohol which bring detrimental effects. Anxiety and depression create feelings of sadness and worry, which brings a lack of confidence and leads to intense sadness.

For that purpose, you must be aware of your distorted thoughts, which have a great impact on your self-worth. Try to convert your negative thoughts into positive ones.
